Hugo Brazão (n. 1989, Madeira) vive e trabalha em Lisboa.

A sua prática artística estabelece-se entre a pintura, escultura e têxtil e desenvolve-se a partir do paradoxo ficção/realidade, reimaginando o material encontrado na sua pesquisa e procurando as possibilidades técnicas e as diferentes narrativas que são criadas em sua volta. Brazão concluiu o mestrado em Artes Plásticas com distinção na Central Saint Martins em Londres (2015) e licenciatura em Pintura na Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa (2013). Recebeu o VIA Arts Prize 2018 em Londres, o Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award em 2015 e participa regularmente de residências artísticas internacionais.

Hugo Brazão está actualmente representado em coleções públicas e privadas.

 

Hugo Brazão (b. 1989, Madeira) lives and works inLisbon, Portugal.

His artistic practice covers painting, sculpture and textile and develops around the fiction/reality paradox, reimagining the material found within his research and finding its technical possibilities and different narratives that can be created around it. Brazão was awarded the VIA Arts Prize in 2018 in London, the Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award in 2015 and participates regularly in international art residencies.

Hugo Brazão is currently represented in public and private collections.
