As dez pinturas que Pedro o Novo apresenta nesta exposição enquadram-se, a meu ver, no espírito e na prática do que podemos designar por meta-pintura, ou seja, uma prática significante que interroga, nos dias de hoje, as possibilidades de existência e até de sobrevivência da Pintura, no contexto de um mundo artístico cada vez mais dominado pela sedução das múltiplas dimensões do digital, mas que nelas se não esgota.(…)

The ten paintings that Pedro o Novo presents in this exhibition fall, in my view, within the spirit and practice of what we can call meta-painting, that is, a meaningful practice that questions, in today’s world, the possibilities of existence and even survival of Painting, in the context of an art world increasingly dominated by the allure of the multiple dimensions of the digital, yet not exhausted by them.(…)
